Ìý Shirley Denson Tuesday 8 January 2002 Ìý
In 1976 Shirley Denson's husband committed suicide. Eric Denson had been a squadron leader in the RAF. In 1958 he was ordered to fly his plane through the cloud of a nuclear explosion bigger than Hiroshima.

Mrs Denson wants the Ministry of Defence to be prosecuted for the death of her husband. She believes that, in effect, her husband was used as a guinea pig, and that his death related to his part in the nuclear tests on Christmas Island.
She's one of many widows of nuclear test veterans who believe that the MoD is guilty of a cover-up - but what makes her case special is that the police are taking it seriously and are currently investigating her claims.
Jenni is joined by Shirley Denson to talk about her husband's ordeal. To discuss the issues involved in the investigation, Jenni is also joined by Dr. Gerry Kendal, Head of Population Exposure at the National Radiological Protection Board and Sue Rabbit Roff
