When the Labour Party introduced women-only shortlists they were derided by the Conservatives.
But with just 14 Tory women in the Commons, some senior conservatives are having second thoughts. Michael Portillo has said that if it took the introduction of all women shortlists to get more Tory women into Parliament then he'd support the idea.
And Shadow Cabinet members Andrew Lansley and Theresa May have come up with a scheme designed to ensure that a higher proportion of women make it onto the shortlists of the most winnable seats.
Jenni is joined by women conservative candidates Nadine Bargery and Mary Macleod.
