Leigh-Anne Webb
Leigh-Anne Webb is the Lion manager at Antelope Park in the heart of Zimbabwe.
Every morning Leigh wakes up at 5am, not just to give her little boy Josh some breakfast, but to take the lion cubs for a walk.
Leigh has had the privilege of seeing most of the lions here grow from tiny cubs to strong young adults
Antelope Park is home to the world famous African Lion and Environmental Research Trust, known as ALERT. It’s a lion rehabilitation programme working to ethically re-introduce the offspring of captive-bred African lions back into the wild. Leigh has had the privilege of seeing most of the lions here grow from tiny cubs to strong young adults.
Research suggests that lions could be extinct in the wild within the next few decades if extreme measures are not taken. So Leigh and the team have an important role in making sure this will not happen.
