This is a sanctuary for rescued cheetahs and also host to a very necessary cheetah conservation programme. Cheetah numbers are on the decline. They are the most threatened of all Africa’s cat species.

Only in his mid-twenties, Christo has already been working at H.E.S.C. for over 8 years and knows every animal by appearance, name and character. It’s no small task looking after 78 cheetahs – feeding, health checks, relocating, vaccinations and the day-to-day care for each individual takes serious dedication. But for Christo it is all worth it - to make sure that cheetahs have a wild future.
