Angela Scanlon is bringing fun to Strictly this year

She’s got the chat, but is she ready to Cha Cha Cha on Strictly? Broadcaster, presenter and podcaster Angela Scanlon has already got a glittering TV career behind her both in the UK and Ireland.

After completing business studies at university, Angela ventured into the world of fashion by importing handbags from independent designers. She then went on to work as a stylist, writing the first ever fashion blog for a national newspaper in her native Ireland.

Angela was first approached for television work after her fashion column got noticed and she went on to make guest appearances on RTE shows including Off the Rails and Xposé. In 2014 she hosted her first major documentary Oi Ginger which was met with critical acclaim and trended worldwide on social media.

A pivotal moment in Angela’s career came in 2015 when she made the move to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and joined The Voice as a digital presenter. Later that year she presented Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three’s live coverage of T in the Park, made her first appearance as a reporter on The One Show and co-hosted three seasons of Robot Wars.

In 2018 Angela joined Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 to host her own show from 4 to 6am, and in 2019 she ventured into the realm of podcasting with her show: Angela Scanlon Thanks a Million. Each episode structures around an interview with a celebrity and their Gratitude Lists, which explores how things have shaped their lives.

Returning to her roots back in Ireland, in 2021 Angela took the reins of brand new RTE show Angela Scanlon Ask Me Anything. The show has since flourished, having aired the third series in July 2023. Now that’s wrapped, she’s ready to put on her dancing shoes and join the cast of Strictly 2023!
