Event Information for Radio 1 Big Weekend Live from George Square

The event will be held at George Square, George St, Glasgow G2 1DU.

Doors will open 5.00pm and the event will finish at around 11pm.

Entrance & Box Office

Guestlist and See Tickets cabin will be at the east end of the square on George St.

Age Restrictions

No under 18’s will be allowed on site and a β€˜Challenge 25’ policy will be operated here so please ensure you bring the appropriate ID.

The following forms of ID will be accepted:

β€’ 1. A valid passport

β€’ 2. A valid European Union Photocard Driving Licence

β€’ 3. A valid photographic identity card bearing the National Proof Of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram.

We recommend using public transport to get to the event as there is no parking available at George Square.

BY BIKE

BY RAIL

George Square can be accessed from 4 Rail Stations all within a five minute walking radius. These are:-

  • Glasgow Argyle Street Station

BY BUS

A number of bus services stop within a five minute walking radius to George Square. These are:-

  • Merge onto M8
  • Take the exit toward A803 Kirkintilloch
  • Turn left onto Castle Street

  • Turn right onto Ingram Street and park as directed by Stewards.

From the South

  • Carlisle M74
  • At junction 4 exit onto M73 toward Stirling/Glasgow/A80/M8
  • At junction 19 exit onto M8 toward Glasgow/City Centre
  • Take the exit toward A803 Kirkintilloch
  • Turn left onto Castle Street
  • Continue past Royal Infirmary onto High Street
  • Turn right onto Ingram Street and park as directed by Stewards.

From the East

  • Edinburgh M8
  • Take the exit toward A803 Kirkintilloch
  • Turn left onto Castle Street

From the West

  • At junction 15 exit on the right onto Springburn Rd/A803toward Cathedral/Glasgow Cross
