Disposable vapes could soon be banned in England and Wales, as part of the government's crack-down on their use amongst children - under laws Labour might continue to bring in from the previous government. They're also expected to be banned in Scotland and Northern Ireland by April 2025. But with over 4 million illegal vapes already seized at the border last year, tighter regulation could mean more black markets. Michelle Ackerley investigates just how dangerous they can be, as she meets a teenager whose lung collapsed after using them -- and heads out with Trading Standards on the hunt for the criminals selling them, in this two-part investigation.

Earlier we saw Michelle Ackerley out with Trading Standards in Liverpool as they searched shops selling illegal vapes - seizing some that were FIVE TIMES over the legal limit. Michelle met some of the UK's first illegal vape detection dogs, as they sniff out a secret stash. She also headed to the labs with the seized goods, to find out how an increased number of them have metals such as lead in them, which can cause health problems with the nervous system and brain.
