It's going to be another tough winter with bills rising and benefits reduced. So far in 2024 the total amount of money lent by equity release has totalled over Β£1 billion.
Finance expert Laura Pomfret explains how an equity release mortgage could unlock the cash tied up in the homes of people over the age of 55. But it comes with a warning, the loan will be paid off when you die or move into a home, which can impact your family.
