SNP MP: Lord Provost should not resign over expenses
Glasgow's Lord Provost should not be forced to resign over her Β£8000 expenses, says the SNP's Philippa Whitford
The Central Ayrshire MP disagreed with some of the claims, but said the position should not just be for rich councillors with "a wardrobe full of glamorous clothes".
On the discussion on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Debate Night, Liberal Democrat MP Christine Jardine said the public would have more respect for Lord Provost Eva Bolander if she "wore the same clothes as they do".
The Lord Provost apologised after facing criticism for her expenses claims, which included 23 pairs of shoes.
