Rowing: Lightweight Double Scull excited to get going

Zak Lee-Green and Sam Mottram are looking to forge an exciting new partnership.

As the first rowing World Cup of the year approaches, the British Rowing Men’s Lightweight Double Scull are looking to set down a marker in the competitive season.

β€œIt’s going really well, I’m really enjoying it, Sam’s pretty good,” Lee-Green told ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshire’s Tim Dellor. β€œHe’s just towing me along to be honest, and I’m just enjoying the ride.

β€œA few weeks ago we got selected in the double, and now it’s all hard work together.”

And Mottram is aware that both he and Lee-Green are following in illustrious sculling footsteps.

β€œIt is a very exclusive, small club, and there’s probably only six, seven people who have competed in it since the [Zac] Purchase and [Mark] Hunter era.

β€œIt’s a very exclusive club to be a member of.”
