Reading FC: McShane hoping for better summer preparation
Paul McShane thinks a disjointed summer last year contributed to the poor season.
After play-off final defeat at the end of last year, McShane thinks the squad were already on the back foot going into the 2017-18 season.
βThe last summer was quite difficult,β McShane told ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshireβs Tim Dellor. βPeople got a bit drained I think.
βWe started the season OK, performances were decent, but we werenβt getting the results.
βI think that was a big blow to peopleβs mentalities.β
And McShane is hoping players with the right βmentalityβ come into the club during the transfer window.
βItβs about bringing in the right characters for the team, bringing in winners, people with hunger.
βI think thatβs more than half the battle.β
