History of Scots language
Children attending Scots Scuil discuss Scots words and list their favourites. Matthew Fitt explains how the Scots language came to Scotland and became the language of the Kings. James Robertson explains that on becoming King of England, James VI of Scotland made English the more important language in Scotland. The children perform a short play in Scots about James VI. They discuss how children are sometimes given prizes for talking Scots and sometimes told off.
