Portuguese nurses are trained to the same standard as British ones, but their economy is less stable than the UK's, meaning many nurses there cannot find employment.
The Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital are looking to recruit 40 further qualified nurses due to growing demands in its services.
