Hundreds attacked by dogs in Kent

John and Clare with the latest news, travel, and weather, plus stories from around Kent.

In the last two years, 230 people have been admitted to hospital in Kent after being attacked by a dog.

Now campaigners in the county are calling on the government to make changes to the dangerous dogs act.

They want to close a loophole in the law, which means people cannot be prosecuted for dog attacks which happen on private property.

The Communication Workers union says there has been a rising number of attacks on postal workers and they are angry the government still has not amended the law (06:07, 07:07 and 08:07.)

People living along a stretch of the M20 say they have had enough of the traffic noise and they want the government to intervene.

The highways agency say the road is considered in good condition and there are no plans to resurface it, but the M20 Noise Action group is calling on the new administration to intervene and get a new, quieter road surface (06:22, 07:22 and 08:22.)

X Factor contenders Rhythmix have agreed to change their name after protests from a Kent charity of the same name that works with disabled and vulnerable children.

The charity, which helps bereaved children, said its work was under threat after a newly formed girl band on the talent show started using its name.

The producers of the TV show decided to call the pop group "Rhythmix" even though the charity, that was set up in Tunbridge Wells 12 years ago, has the same name (08:48.)
