Catching a dragon

In an effort to find out more about the Komodo dragon, a research programme has begun to tag individuals with radio-telemetry tracking devices. This will monitor the movements of the dragons across the islands. But first the researchers must catch a dragon and attach the device, with some help from Stephen Fry and Mark Carwardine. They lure a dragon into a large trap and then tie it up to make measuring and attaching the device safe. This individual measures 2.6m. The device is attached and everyone lends a hand to hold the animal while the ties are taken off. On the count of three everyone lets go and runs for safety. The dragon can now be tracked.
