The indri is the largest of all the lemurs and has a voice to match its size. Their loud calls, reminiscent of whale song, is used as a way of communicating territorial boundaries in a much less energetic way than patrolling and scent-marking. As Stephen Fry remarks, why widdle when you can yodel.
