In this week鈥檚 Tracks of OUR Years omnibus edition is Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe better known to you and me as Pet Shop Boys, they will be choosing the tunes that have inspired them.

Neil and Chris met in a London Hi-Fi store in 1981 and bonded over a mutual love for disco and electronic music, drawing inspiration from synth-pop pioneers like OMD, Soft Cell and Depeche Mode.

They have sold over 50 million records worldwide in an astonishing career spanning four decades. From their breakthrough hits 鈥淲est End Girls鈥� and 鈥淚t鈥檚 A Sin鈥� to working with such luminaries as Dusty Springfield, Liza Minnelli, Madonna and Lady Gaga, their songs have been at the forefront of electronic music.

Pet Shop Boys began 2024 with a brand new single 鈥淟oneliness鈥� from their current album 鈥淣onetheless鈥�. They recently performed that single in Radio 2鈥檚 Piano Room as well as a brilliant cover of Mott The Hoople鈥檚 鈥淎ll The Young Dudes鈥� and they鈥檒l be playing five nights at London鈥檚 Royal Opera House in July. AND it was announced last week that the will be closing Radio 2鈥檚 In The Park in Preston this year.
