Vernon Kay knows you’re going to love the songs and stories in this week’s Tracks of My Years Omnibus Edition as he's joined by Hollywood Royalty - Academy Award winning actor Russell Crowe, who selects the songs and singers that have inspired him.

Russell has starred in some of the biggest blockbusters ever, from β€œL.A. Confidential”, β€œA Beautiful Mind” and β€œLes Miserables” to his Oscar-winning role as Maximus Decimus Meridius in β€œGladiator”, and although he doesn’t quite give us his famous line β€œat my signal unleash hell”, he does talk about taking his family to The Colosseum in Rome, which he jokingly describes as β€œThe Office”.

As we’ll hear, he is a keen musician and has seen and met all the artists he has chosen. And he will be livening up this summer in the UK by bringing β€œRussell’s Indoor Garden Party” to venues across the country in July. It promises to be an organic night of music and stories with his band The Gentlemen Barbers. AND, at the end of June, he will be taking said band to Worthy Farm for the first time. Radio 2 are heading to Glastonbury too, with Zoe Ball, Jo Whiley and Dermot O’Leary, and you can catch them all on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Sounds.
