Drummer Woody Woodmansey shares his memories of playing with David Bowie at the final, legendary Ziggy Stardust gig at Hammersmith Odeon, 50 years ago this week.

Fifty years ago this week, drummer woody Woodmansey had no idea he was about to play his final gig with David Bowie.

He and the Spiders from Mars had been touring with David, the final gig was at London's Hammersmith Odeon. Little did he know that Bowie really would 'break up the band' at the end of that very show.

Fast forward five decades and Woody is the only surviving Spider. He's Johnnie's My 70s guest this week, and they'll chat about his memories of working with David and that last, fateful show when Ziggy was abruptly retired live on stage, much to the acute shock of David's fans and bandmates.

The concert film of that last show at Hammersmith has been restored and updated and will receive its premiere on the 3 July at the same venue, exactly 50 years since it took place. The event will also be shown across UK cinemas.
