Actor and performer Paul Nicholas is Johnnie's My 70s guest.

By the 1970s, Paul Nicholas already had quite a few years of showbiz experience under his belt.

In the decade before he’d been pop singer Paul Dean, and he'd also worked with Screaming Lord Sutch, before changing his name to Oscar and recording songs written by the likes of David Bowie and Pete Townshend.

Once he settled on Paul Nicholas, he found success in musical theatre, appearing in Jesus Christ Superstar among many other productions.
He also starred in films such as 1974’s Stardust with David Essex and The Who’s rock opera movie Tommy, as well as 1975's Lisztomania. By the 1980s, he was appearing on London's West End in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, before finding TV fame as Vince Pinner in Just Good Friends.

Paul’s career continued well into the 1990s and he's still working today, so it’s no wonder he wrote his autobiography in 2021, called Musicals, Marigolds and Me. He's recently released the audiobook version of it, and will be chatting to Johnnie about his 70s memories and more.
