An unexpected visitor causes disruption and Lily tries to look on the bright side.

Lily’s heard that Chelsea is putting what Russ has taught her into practice by correcting labels in the village shop. Lily praises his teaching skills and asks him to apply them to helping out Freddie, who’s shaken by Bert’s sudden death. With Russ less than enthusiastic, Lily does the job herself and lets Russ know she’s informed Freddie that Russ would like him to introduce one of the films at their Halloween screening.
Tony calls round to the Brookfield bungalow looking for Rex but finds Trevor, who’s turned up earlier than planned and let himself in with Bert’s hidden spare key. Tony’s keen to get back to the Bridge Farm potato harvest but Trevor invites him in. Rex arrives and relieves Tony from Trevor’s in-depth explanation about his train journey to reach Ambridge. Rex lets Trevor know he’ll have as much space and quiet as he needs but Trevor insists it’s having people to talk to that what will help him most. Later, Rex admits to Ruth that Trevor’s the most boring person he’s ever met. Rex returns to Trevor who’s finding poignant items amongst Bert’s belongings. Rex offers to give Trevor a lift to the station tomorrow, but then in spite of himself he ends up suggesting Trevor stays a bit longer.
