Jolene attempts to do the right thing and one resident comes to an emotional realisation
Trevor shows Eddie some old photos of Bert and Joe from past Flower and Produce Shows. Eddie thinks the show’s special award in memory of Joe should return next year as an award in memory of both Joe and Bert. Trevor points out two men’s names should be in alphabetical order and then proceeds to list many famous pairings that follow this rule. While getting more drinks, Eddie doesn’t hold back in telling Jolene that being in Trevor’s company is hard work. He comes up with a plan for everyone in The Bull to spend time with Trevor thus sharing the load of his overly detailed conversation. It works but it also empties the pub pretty quickly too. After speaking to Rex, Jolene convinces Kenton to cancel their Halloween event as it doesn’t feel appropriate so soon after Bert’s death there.
Trevor and Rex walk home from the Bull together. Trevor’s enjoyed his evening talking to so many people. Trevor tells Rex that Bert had spoken highly of him in his unfinished letter to Trevor. Rex accepts Trevor’s offer of keeping Bert’s poetry notebooks. Rex is touched that Bert saw him as a second son. Trevor declares Bert was proud of Rex, the way a dad should be.
