More about the programme:
On All Things Considered this week thereβs another chance to hear an interview first broadcast in Sept 2016 in which Roy Jenkins meets Nadia Bolz-Weber - an unconventional Lutheran pastor described by the Washington Post as a βfoul-mouthed champion to people sick of being belittled as not Christian enough for the right or too Jesus-y for the leftβ.
Eight years ago, adorned with her impressive trademark tattoos, she started a distinctive new church in Denver, Colorado, which prides itself on being open to everyone, combining both very progressive and very traditional elements.
Controversial and loud, compassionate and funny - she worked for a time as a stand-up comedian β Nadia draws audiences around the world, and sheβs been on tour in Britain recently. Roy talks to her about her life and her faith.
