Continuing NHS healthcare

Progress in tackling the long-standing problem of delays in resolving claims for continuing NHS healthcare in Wales is "still not good enough" - according to the chair of the National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee.

Darren Millar expects an update from the Welsh Government next week but says that the experience of his constituents suggests that local health boards - who pick up the bill for continuing N-H-S healthcare - are still not putting enough resources into resolving the problem.

The Welsh Government, however,Β says extra staff are trying to clear the backlog of claims and investment to try to improve decision making should in future reduce the need for retrospective claims which have seen more than Β£50m returned to Welsh families over the last decade.

Presented by Kayley Thomas.
