Further Information:
Starting with the famous Chained Library of Hereford Cathedral, Roy visits an exhibition of illegal books confiscated from a secret Jesuit college at Cwm, near Monmouth, and explores a time when the faith was strictly illegal. A stone’s throw away from the Anglican Cathedral, at Belmont Abbey, Roy visits a monastery that was once the focal point for the revival of Catholicism in Wales. There he meets some of the men who nowadays feel called to undergo the discipline of a monastic order, and meets a dog-loving abbot from Neath.
