A Good Friday meditation from Salisbury Cathedral with Aled Jones and music by Karl Jenkins played by the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra with the voices of Salisbury Festival Chorus.
Salisbury Cathedral is the glorious setting for ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2's meditation in words and music for Good Friday, hosted by Aled Jones and featuring the ever-popular music of Karl Jenkins.
The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra will come together with the voices of Salisbury Festival Chorus in front of a capacity audience to perform selected movements from Jenkins' Mass for Peace: The Armed Man, his Requiem, and Stabat Mater. There will also be complete performances of his smaller works Palladio and Adiemus, familiar to many through their use in commercial advertising.
Jenkins' memorable and appealing music always wins the heart, and is highly appropriate for Good Friday. It will be interspersed by the drama of the Bible's passion story and selected reflections from award-winning writer Sara Maitland's new meditation 'Stations of the Cross' read by actors Keiron Self and Rosie Cavaliero, to create that essential moment of Good Friday meditation for the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 audience who gather "At the Foot of the Cross.".
