Stormzy chats success, serious nerves and snoring on the Radio 1 breakfast show
We've already established that Stormzy isn't too big for his boots (evidence below) but even we weren't ready for the revelations that rolled during his chat to .
OK, maybe 'revelations' is too strong a word but what term would you use to describe the discovery that you share a sleep affliction with one of your favourite artists? (He's a snorer.) Revelatory stuff!

Here are six pieces of definitive proof that Stormzy couldn't be keeping it more real...
Chatting about impressing his parents, abandoning the dirty dishes and battling extreme nerves, it's safe to say that we learned a lot about Big Mike over the course of an hour and, because sharing is caring, we've rounded up four of the tastiest tidbits for you to gorge.
Welcome to your Stormzy smorgasbord, may the feast BEGIN!
He's a resourceful fella
Stormzy's found a novel use for his Radio 1 Teen Award
We're not even mad about it...
The Radio 1 Teen Awards happened last week and the whole shebang was, in a word, exceptional. But you probably already knew that, right?
When we weren't singing ourselves into a tizzy reciting Dua Lipa's rules (repeat after us: one, don't pick up the phone), we were swooning at the sight of a Camila Cabello and James Arthur duet and, when we weren't doing either of those things, we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of one certain Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo, Jr. (that's Stormzy, to you and us).
Bagging the gong for Most Entertaining Celebrity, Stormzy revealed to Grimmy exactly where he planned on putting his award. The answer will... confuse you?

Consider this your low-down...
He's every light sleeper's worst nightmare
"I'm not buying it!" - Stormzy reacts to Maya Jama's list of his bad habits
Spoiler alert: Stormzy is a snorer.
He heavily disputes it but facts are facts: Stormzy is a snorer.
How do you know this exactly? Well Grimmy, being the thorough investigative journalist that he is, enlisted Maya Jama (Stormzy's girlfriend, if you didn't already know) to dish on the bad habits of the nation's sweetheart (he's reached that level, non?). Turns out that even away from the mic, Stormzy produces quite a lot of sound.
But the bad bedfellow habits don't stop there. Listen and learn, friends. Listen and learn.
His parents are pretty hashtag proud
Here's the dealio: you're a world-renowned artist trying to get your parents to acknowledge your colossal success and yet, despite your best efforts, they don't quite understand. A stream is just a flow of water in their world!
It's something to measure in that sense, even for my mum and my family... It's something they all understandStormzy
But then you hit the TV big time - you appear on The X Factor! - and, finally, they get it. Suffice to say, Stormzy is chuffed.
"I think it's one of them shows for me that it's like, for example, everywhere I go, if someone didn't know what I do - because that happens a lot of the time - they're like 'ah you're a musician?' and I'm like 'yeah, I'm this guy called Stormzy... I performed on X Factor' and [they're like] 'ah okay, you're doing alright', do you know what I mean?
"It's something to measure in that sense, even for my mum and my family and that. It's something they all understand."
He's as riddled with nerves as the rest of us
β€I’m even scared listening back!†– Stormzy relives performing Shut Up as Anthony Joshua enters the ring
Grimmy chats to Stormzy about boxing on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show.
Can we all please take a moment for Stormzy's epic (read: shambolic) description of a boxing match:
"Do you know how I would describe it? It's like a football match... at night. Wait, no, that was so dumb because football matches can be at night. It's like the energy of a football match but with more alcohol, in a club!
Imagine you took the energy of a football match and put it in Ministry of Sound. That's a good way to describe it. Or maybe it was the worst way to describe it."
We can't argue with that (mainly because we can't make sense of it). Alas, one thing we understand inside out is nerves and we're pretty psyched to report that even superstars experience them. Reflecting on the night he performed Shut Up in the ring as Anthony Joshua entered, Stormzy revealed that the thought of it still gave him chills.
"One of the most nervous moments of my life. When I think of it I could vomit because that's how nervous I was."
Stars: they're just like us!
