Ìý

Her acting credits include performing in The Vagina Monologues and Ardal O'Hanlon's Big Bad World.

Ìý

Tamara says: "Although I've had some interesting hair dos. The 'pineapple' springs to mind mostly. I've always had big crazy hair and love the big Sixties hair."

Ìý

Tamara's confesses: "Having always been a hair kind of girl, it was about time to put the shoe on the other foot. I am really looking forward to my six-day working week."

Ninia BenjaminhÌý
Ninia Benjamin

Ìý

Ninia Benjamin

Ìý

Comedian Ninia Benjamin was catapulted to stardom as one third of Â鶹ԼÅÄ Three's 3 Non-Blondes and is a regular headliner at all the top comedy venues doing stand-up across the UK.

Ìý

She has also presented Gory Greek Gods, been a studio guest on Big Brother's Big Mouth, and appeared in Twisted Tales.

Ìý

Ninia didn't have her hair cut in a salon until she was 26-years-old!

Ìý

Ninia says: "I am looking forward to learning all about hair and make up. Cor, what woman wouldn't want to?"

Ben NicholasÌý
Ben Nicholas

Ìý

Ben Nicholas

Ìý

Nineteen-year-old actor Ben Nicholas made his name as Scott 'Stingray' Timmins in Australian soap, Neighbours. He enjoyed over three years playing show-regular Toadfish's cousin and became one of Ramsay Street's favourite young residents.

Ìý

Â鶹ԼÅÄ viewers saw Stingray leave Neighbours in March 2007 after a moving storyline which saw him die suddenly after saving his baby daughter's life. He has since moved to the UK with fellow Neighbours actor Kyal Marsh and is appearing in panto in Stevenage this Christmas.

Ìý

Ben admits that he straightens his hair every day with straighteners that his mum bought him, "because she got fed up of me looking so scruffy."

Ìý

He's looking forward to his academy experience; however, his only concern is assisting in some of the more intimate beauty treatments.

Warwick DaviesÌý
Warwick Davies

Ìý

Warwick Davies

Ìý

Warwick's career as an actor began when he won the role of Wicket the Ewok in the Star Wars film, Return Of The Jedi.

Ìý

Since then he has gone on to star in Labyrinth, Willow, Star Wars: Episode One, and all six Harry Potter films. Most recently, he has appeared in The Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy and guest starred in Ricky Gervais's Extras.

Ìý

When he was 17 he had a perm, this was after filming Willow. However, his desired effect of a wavy mane turned into a tight perm.

Ìý

"I am thrilled to have been asked to become an apprentice in Celebrity Scissorhands. There are simply two reasons why I said yes to the invitation. Firstly, I have always wanted to do more to help Children In Need. And secondly, I hope to inspire viewers of the show.

Ìý

"Too many people set mental limits to their achievements in life. I am a firm believer in 'having a go'. I don't let my size or my mind stop me from succeeding. If, after watching Celebrity Scissorhands just one viewer is inspired enough to try something they've always wanted to do, then I'll be happy.

Ìý

"I am also looking forward to acquiring new skills. In the acting game, one never knows when a back-up plan will be needed. Anyone for a 'short' back and sides?"

Aled Haydn JonesÌý
Aled Haydn Jones

Ìý

Aled Haydn Jones

Ìý

Radio producer Aled Haydn Jones is most well known for working on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio One's Chris Moyles Breakfast Show.

Ìý

When not producing the show, he still acts as a regular roving reporter covering Big Brother and has earned himself the nickname BB Aled.

Ìý

Aled's TV credits have included regular appearances as a judge on the S4C Welsh language talent show Wawffactor.

Ìý

He has also appeared on Newsnight, Big Brother's Little Brother, as a guest presenter on Top Of The Pops, and as an extra in hit American TV drama 24.

Ìý

In July 2006, Aled, who couldn't swim until a few months beforehand, swam a mile to raise nearly £69,000 for Sport Relief.

Ìý

"As the reality TV fan on the Chris Moyles show I am looking forward to actually getting to be in one! I just hope to do well and raise lots of money for Children in Need," says Aled.

Lil' ChrisÌý
Lil' Chris

Ìý

Lil' Chris

Ìý

Don't be fooled by a tiny frame – 16-year-old Chris Hardman is a brilliantly noisy pop powerhouse, who has exploded all over the charts in just a few months.

Ìý

The surprise star of Gene Simmons' Rock School, Chris' music is what he describes as "not hardcore rock – but not full-on pop". After his appearance on the show, it didn't take long for record companies to show keen interest in Chris.

Ìý

A UK tour was announced, and his debut single Checkin' It Out, released in September, reached number three in the charts and became one of the summer pop anthems of 2006.

Ìý

Chris' self-titled debut album followed in December, which won high praise, and has since been certified Gold. Another tour followed and another smash single Gettin' Enough.

Ìý

He is up for anything but would much rather wax a woman's hairy leg than a man's hairy back. He is looking forward to being on the show and he is not prepared to fail as being bad at anything is not an option, he will make sure that he is good.

Ìý

If he makes a mistake whilst cutting hair he will just laugh. His strategy to cutting good hair is to blag it and to make the front look good and to not worry about the back.

JavineÌý
Javine

Ìý

Javine

Ìý

Pop singer Javine Hylton, began her musical career at 18 playing Nala in The Lion King on London's West End before auditioning for Popstars: The Rivals in 2004. Although she narrowly missed out on being included in the girl band Girls Aloud, she went on to have a successful solo career releasing four Top 20 singles.

Ìý

After representing Great Britain in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Javine returned to the theatre to star in the Boney M musical Daddy Cool, alongside So Solid's MC Harvey. They are now a couple and expecting a baby.

Ìý

"I'm very excited to do the show as I have always been interested in the beauty industry. I'm dreading doing manicures and pedicures, but can't wait to wax a few men's backs! Now I'm about to become a mother a charity like Children in Need has become more prominent in my life."

Carley StensonÌý
Carley Stenson

Ìý

Carley Stenson

Ìý

Although playing Hollyoaks' Steph Dean is Carley's first television role, she has previous experience in theatre.

Ìý

Fortunately for Carley, she doesn't get any hassle from fans when she's off duty. "They must think I'm as nasty as Steph and I scare them off!"

Ìý

Of course, Carley is nothing like her on-screen character. "I'm not a bit like Steph, after all, she is a real bitch! It's really fun playing someone who is so different to me though."

Ìý

Carley attended St Peter's High School in Orrell, Wigan. She's been dancing since she was three and had plenty of stage experience, but it wasn't until her mum entered her for a talent contest and she won that her career really took off.

Ìý

When she's not working, Steph likes to spend time in her apartment in La Cala, Spain. "It gives me time to brush up on my Spanish!"

Ìý

She is really looking forward to working in the academy but is slightly concerned because she has a real fear of dirty hair.

Ìý

Brandon Block

Ìý

Brandon is one of Britain's biggest DJ personalities. His uplifting party house music behind the decks both on Kiss FM and his annual Ibiza pilgrimage has established Brandon as an essential part of the legacy of the island.

Ìý

He's equally well-known for causing havoc on the other side of the turntables, getting himself into all kinds of scrapes as he travels the world, DJ-ing in Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Dubai, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and Israel.

Ìý

Brandon has worked with the general public when, before turning to DJ-ing, he was a recruitment consultant and a sales assistant in Burton, Topman and his aunty's greengrocers.

Ìý

When it comes to difficult clients Brandon will chastise them – as he believes that the client isn't always right. He reckons his downfall will be long hours and early starts.

Ìý

Brandon says: "I have had a few dodgy hairstyles in my time. I look forward to inflicting some on others!"
