The Street - a new drama for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE
Neil Dudgeon plays Brian
In episode three, Brian, a well-respected teacher is caught short as he jogs in the park. But when a young girl sees him, the consequences for the teacher are disastrous.
Μύ
"At the start of this episode everything seems to be going smoothly for Brian, a happily married man with three children," says Neil Dudgeon who plays the teacher who is ostracized by his neighbours when he is accused of exposing himself in a park.
Μύ
"It's a rather sad, horrifying, yet very moving tale about a complete misunderstanding which sees the teacher's life go bad very quickly."
Μύ
The Yorkshire-born actor who appeared alongside Joanne Whalley in the film Breathtaking says he found the scenes with former-EastEnder's star, Lindsey Coulson, who plays his wife Ann emotionally draining.
Μύ
"The confrontation between my wife and the kids was hard and very challenging, it was exhausting being in a state of grief. I hope I do justice to it," says the RADA-trained actor whose TV credits also include Messiah, The Mrs Bradley Mysteries, Midsomer Murders and Between The Lines.
Μύ
"I met Jimmy for the first time before filming and we talked a little bit about his personal experience as a teacher because he was one a long time ago, but everything I needed was in the script," says Dudgeon who is currently filming Sorted, Daniel Brocklehurst's six-part series for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE.
Μύ
One of the great things Jimmy has done with this project is to bring other writers on board to do it.
Μύ
"I think the story is universal and could be set anywhere. Like any good story you feel a connection to it."
