Emma Jones
Emma Jones

My name is Emma Jones. I am 37 years of age and I live with my Partner and his daughter. My hobbies include reading, painting and of course writing, I am looking for some feedback in the hope that my writing will improve as a result and also to gain a bit of confidence.

Gathering Thoughts by Emma Jones

The beach was empty
save for the lapping waves
that licked at the sand
nudged at the pebbles.

Gulls circled overhead
dipping and diving into the tide
their squalls hovering in the air.

A mist hung gently
obscuring the line between the sea and the sky
buildings vague on the opposite side
appearing and disappearing
a glimpse of their frame.

I walked gathering my thoughts
piecing them together
picking them apart
the scenery with them mingled as one.
