The Saturday Show is back - jam-packed with fun,
games and celebrity guests, all guaranteed to kick start your weekend
in style!
Jake told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Norfolk Kids he can't wait to get
cracking: "It's really exciting. Even
I don't quite know what'll happen each week!"
Starting the new series off with a bang is new
punk-pop boyband McFly who'll be in the studio to perform their
debut single, 5 Colours In Her Hair.
Children's favourite Dani Harmer, aka CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Tracy
Beaker, comes in for a chat and is joined by Britain's best loved
fox - the one, the only Basil Brush!
"I'll be standing petrified alongside Angellica
from CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and Simon Grant who did the last Saturday Show, so it'll
be good to able to share the nerves," laughed Jake.
"I want the show to be 'structured' but not
'scripted', and so fingers crossed the best bits happen when we
are live and we least expect it!" he added.
Jamie and Zoe from Live & Kicking in 1997 |
Jake said it's always been an ambition to be presenting
on Saturday morning telly.
"I remember watching Jamie and Zoe on Live
& Kicking when I was younger and wondering how weird life must
be to be them and what an amazing showbiz life it must be... maybe
things have changed since then?
"Yeah, it's a bit of pressure, but if you're
gonna cut it in TV then you need to prove you can do anything and
everything."
To mark the start of the new Saturday Show, there
are games to get your weekend started such as Ready Brekkie Go!,
Flap the Fish and Shop 'Til You Pop where a celebrity is given the
challenge to win a plethora of prizes for one lucky viewer.
The show is broadcast from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's studios in
Glasgow. Jake is looking forward to a few days a week in Scotland.
"It is filmed live in Glasgow every Saturday
and I love flying, so two flights a week to another country is gonna
be wicked," he said.
"I also can't wait to have Britney, Kylie,
J Lo, and all their good looking mates on the show!"
While there's plenty going on in The Saturday Show
studio, underground there's the hustle and bustle of The Rafia -
mafia rats who live under the studio floor, causing mirth and mayhem.
From the creators of Zig & Zag, The Rafia are Da
Boss and Tony Two Tails - extorting money out of guests, threatening
the presenters and generally making a nuisance of themselves.
Jake's all smiles about his new show |
The big question for Jake - how's he going juggle
juggle his two life loves, Saturday TV and being at Carrow Road?
"Well, obviously the footie season ends soon
after I start on the show, but there may be a few quick flights
from Glasgow to Norwich on a Saturday afternoon.
"Look out for regular references to City on
the show, a Canaries' top or two being worn and hopefully a long
overdue season ticket from Delia arriving in the post!"
The Saturday Show starts on CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ONE on Saturday
17 April, 2004 at 8.30am and runs until Saturday 4 September.
