Jake and Al on the radio at Christmas

Al and Jake make themselves at home in the radio studio
Fame Academy student Alistair Griffin and CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ presenter Jake Humphrey brought their own unique brand of Christmas cheer to the airwaves of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Norfolk over the festive season.

Life has been hectic for CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ presenter Jake Humphrey. In the last two years he's presented Fame Academy, Rule The School, Against All Odds, The Saturday Show and BAMZOOKi.

Despite his busy schedule, Jake returned to his Norfolk roots to spend Christmas with his family and dropped in to present a show on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Norfolk whilst he was here.

Co-hosting the show was Fame Academy favourite Alistair Griffin, a good mate of Jake's since the reality TV series.

Throughout the two-hour programme, Al performed in Griffin Karaoke, to people calling the show for live song requests.

Jake flipped through the phone-book on his moby and called up a few celebrity mates to see how their Christmas went, including Top Of The Pops presenter Fearne Cotton, Harry Potter star Chris Rankin and Norwich City club captain Craig Flemming.

Craig said he'd enjoyed a family Christmas, but felt robbed on Boxing Day as the Canaries lost in a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

"In the first half I think we played probably as well as we have all year. I think we were outstanding in the first half, but in the second it didn't happen," he said.

"We did everything but score a goal, but at that level if you don't score goals then sooner or later they'll come and take the points. It was disappointing," he added.

When Jake dropped a hint about getting a game with the Canaries, it didn't look too promising.

"I've seen you play football mate. You'd be right down of the list of people we'd call, I can tell you," said Flemming.

During the show, people listening around the country via this website, were keen to wish Alistair all the best for 2005 and find out what he's up to next.

"I think it's important to play lots of gigs. As far as Fame Academy student go, I'm the only person who's got out there and done what it's all about. We've done some very big concerts in the north which have been very well received," said Alistair.

"It's all about having your songs heard and playing live. Playing live is very important.

"For me, Top Of The Pops was a bit ridiculous. It's billed as this big thing on TV and I went on and had to sing over a backing track, I was a bit disappointed. It's very frustrating when doing the rounds on TV and not really being able to play live.

"It's just really very important, especially when you come from something like Fame Academy, that you're not just some Muppet on the telly - because people will bracket you in that category.

"It's always important to underline I play the songs, I write the songs, I'm singing them live and my voice is all right. Otherwise you just get cast aside," he added.
