If the gaffer's name or face seem familiar, it could be because he's already coached in England.

Tuchel took over as the head coach of the Premier League side Chelsea in January 2021.

He has a great record with the Blues, leading them to win the Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the Champions League.

But in September 2022, Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea, after a slow start to the Premier League season and a shock defeat in their opening Champions League group game.

Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello were the first and second non-British permanent managers of the men's team

Tuchel was born in 1973 in a small town called Krumbach, in the southeast of Germany.

He is the third non-British and first German to become permanent manger of the men's team.

England's new boss follows in the footsteps of the late Sven-Goran Eriksson, from Sweden, and Fabio Capello who is Italian.

Tuchel's first coach was his dad!

Before making the move over to coaching, Tuchel was a promising football player.

His first club was TSV Krumbach, based in his home town, where he was coached by his father.

Tuchel played for Germany at youth level and got his first professional contract for Stuttgarter Kickers.

But he had to retire from playing at 25 years old after a series of knee injuries.

England might be Tuchel's first international coaching job, but he's got plenty of experience in coaching some of the best international players at club level.

During his time in charge at French club, Paris St-Germain, Tuchel even coached superstar forward Kylian Mbappé.

Tuchel has also coached a number of England's current stars including Mason Mount, Eric Dier and England captain Harry Kane.

In fact, Kane was signed by Tuchel when he was manager at Bayern Munich and had the best season of his career - scoring 44 goals!

He once wanted to be a helicopter pilot

Although Tuchel has been flying high in the world of football for years now, the coach said that when he was younger he dreamt of being a helicopter pilot.

He said he liked how adventurous the job sounded, but now admits he would be too scared to get in a helicopter!
