Based on the town of Wrexham, the constituency is in the north east of Wales and borders England.
It is the largest town in north Wales and ranks as the third largest retail centre in Wales after Cardiff and Swansea. Famous for its former brewery and football team, the town now has one of the UK's largest industrial parks which provides jobs for thousands of people across the area. The constituency has one of the highest employment rates in Wales. It's also the home of a major hospital - the Wrexham Maelor. The current AM is Labour's Lesley Griffiths. In 2011, she won just over 44% of the vote. The Conservatives came second with 26%, the Liberal Democrats third with 14% and Plaid Cymru were fourth with 13%.
