As the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ unveils its biggest educational drive ever, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Cymru Wales has announced how it’ll be supporting parents and students across Wales during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Bitesize Daily / Bitesize Dyddiol is part of a wider package of support for pupils in Wales. Made by ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Education in collaboration with teachers, this brand new learning content is delivered through short films and supporting animations for pupils aged 3-14 years. The service will launch with core subjects content and will be available from 20 April.

In addition, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Wales has already published special online resources for primary and secondary school pupils, as well as information and guidance for parents in Wales.

This content is part of the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ’s newly-expanded education offer that will bring 14 weeks of educational programmes and lessons in all parts of the UK, for children of all ages.

This offer includes special lessons from well-known faces and partnerships with high profile organisations such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Premier League, and additional content such as videos, quizzes, and podcasts will bring core subjects to life online at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Bitesize.

ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Cymru Wales Director, Rhodri Talfan Davies, says: “During these uncertain times, and as schools have now closed to the majority of pupils, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Cymru Wales is doing everything it can to help parents support and continue their children’s education. And we know that the demand is there, as huge numbers turn to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Bitesize resources to look for support.

“Working closely with teachers, the Welsh Government and parents, we have developed additional new content for pupils in Wales. This specially-developed Welsh content fits into a wider package of support that the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ is delivering for pupils all across the UK, to ensure that every child can continue to learn, and have fun, through our high-quality teaching and accessible education offer.”

Kirsty Williams, Welsh Government Minister for Education says: “Parents right across Wales have done an incredible job of following advice, keeping children at home and allowing our schools to care for the children of critical workers and our most vulnerable learners.
“As a parent myself, I know how concerned people are about the impact this crisis will have on children’s education - I am also seeing, first-hand how challenging learning from home can be.

“I am delighted the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ has stepped up to the challenge and has developed an excellent package that will ensure every child in Wales will have the opportunity to continue learning at home, alongside our Hwb platform - I look forward to the launch on April 20.”

ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Wales will be publishing specially-designed educational content for pupils in Wales in collaboration with teachers and partners. There is already guidance for parents to help them navigate their way through the wealth of resources available on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Bitesize and ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Teach for Wales-specific content in English and Welsh. Learners will also be directed to content through the Bitesize Facebook account as well as the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Wales Twitter account and will soon be able to find content through ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer. ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Wales is also working in partnership with the Welsh Government on the ‘Continuity of Learning for Wales’ plan which will be announced by the government during April.
