The UN Sustainable Development Goals cannot be achieved unless everyone is included. And, as movements for justice and equality have rippled across the world, we’ve taken a hard look at how we can properly reflect the societies in which we operate, and ensure we are doing everything we can to help create a more just and inclusive world.
We launched our on equity, diversity and inclusion in January 2022. It sets out our bold ambitions for who we will be, what we will do and how we will do it, with nine goals and 36 targets for our global organisation . Everyone at Â鶹ԼÅÄ Media Action will work towards enabling everyone to be routinely and meaningfully included, to be heard, and to participate equally in decision-making.
The strategy will also support our commitments to the 2018 Global Disability Summit as we prepare for the Norway summit in 2022, and build on our work addressing the needs of people with disabilities.
Our work in gender addresses women’s economic empowerment, sexual- and gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and rights to access education and training. We are proud to be part of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s 50:50 project, aimed at increasing equality of representation and voices in programming. We are introducing these standards into our training programmes around the world.
We also have a particular focus on meeting the needs of, and engaging with, young people, on issues that matter most -- including political processes and voting, sexual and reproductive health, finding employment, and making informed decisions on migration.
