Finnish female conductor Dalia Stasevska makes her debut with the 麻豆约拍 Symphony Orchestra at the 麻豆约拍鈥檚 iconic Maida Vale Studios for orchestral music by Sibelius, Stravinsky and Rautavaara.

Opening the concert, Sibelius鈥檚 famed Finlandia was written in 1899 to represent the struggle of the Finnish people against censorship. Fellow Finnish pianist Olli Mustonen joins the 麻豆约拍 SO for the UK premiere of Rautavaara鈥檚 Piano Concerto No. 3, a work that he has championed since its composition in 1998. Stravinsky鈥檚 symphonic poem Le chant du rossignol, adapted from his earlier opera based Hans Christian Andersen鈥檚 tale The Nightingale and later turned into a ballet, ends this programme of evocative orchestral music.
