The theatre's mission of inspiring young performers and audiences is also evident in the building itself.

Bright colours, open spaces and multidimensional rooms, show the variety of potential on offer.

As the Playbox website states: "It is a space for everyone to rediscover the energy and pulsating dynamic of live performance."

In 1986 Playbox opened its doors for the first time in a hotel room in Warwickshire.

A winning formula of creating theatre with children was quickly established by the team.

Michael Bogdanov accepted the invitation to become the company patron and the large cultural enterprise that is Playbox today was launched.

In 1988 the operation expanded with the opening of a new Playbox in Warwick and the move into Kenilworth's Talisman Theatre with increased hours, studio and rehearsal space.

The expansion continued over the following years until in 1994, when the project moved to Coventry, over 1,000 young people were working with Playbox Theatre and the company had gone international.

In 1999 the Dream Factory opened and has been welcoming performers and audiences ever since.
