The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need mascot, Pudsey Bear, popped in to help out at Coventry University's annual graduation ceremonies.

On Tuesday, 12 November, Pudsey encouraged thousands of students and their parents to
dig deep in their pockets and give generously for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Children in Need.

Pudsey was dressed in a graduation gown and mortar board encouraging people to give donations, to have their picture taken with him and generally add to the enjoyment of the day.

The stunt with Pudsey was part of a competition organised by us at the website to encourage people in Coventry and Warwickshire to boost this year's Children In Need total.

We gave cuddly Pudsey Bears to the universities and asked them to go head to head for Children in Need.

They went into competition to see which university
could raise the most money using our lovable bears as prizes.

Coventry University rose to the challenge and have started a variety of fund-raising activities.

Maureen Clifton from the University Library has organised a raffle for the autographed bear.

She also obtained vouchers and gifts for the raffle from City-Centre retailers, including Odeon cinema tickets, clothes vouchers for Uniqlo and Two Seasons, vouchers for beauty treatments from Cullens and Toni and Guy and more.

The University's Purchasing section have also organised a raffle for a luxury hamper and the School of Engineering have donated Β£250 from the sales of an e-book.

Warwick University are doing a sponsored hitch hike between 29 November - 1 December all the way from Coventry to Dublin as part of Rag Week.

Around 100 students are taking part in the hike and each has to raise a minimum of Β£30.

Rag President Ben Tichband said he hoped the fact that a signed Pudsey was on offer to the person that raised the most would motivate the students.
