The Â鶹ԼÅÄ Children In Need appeal was on Friday 15 November 2002.
We organised a number of events to kick-off the fundraising in great style.

We asked Coventry-born Pete Waterman to get involved.
He was more than happy to sign some Pudsey toys for us and even posed in Coventry Cathedral with the bears!
We also had an online auction for a signed Will Young CD, which raised a fantastic £80 in just one afternoon.

We gave two cuddly toy Pudseys, signed by Pete, to start a fundraising battle between the city's universities.
We gave the bears to the good folk at Coventry University and Warwick University to use as prizes in a range of fundraising events.
Coventry University had a full-size Pudsey dressed in a university gown during the graduation ceremonies so students and their parents could have their picture taken with Pudsey for a donation.
Warwick University student rag committee challeged students to take a sponsored hitch hike between 29 November - 1 December all the way from Coventry to Dublin.
Around 100 students took part and the person that raised the most cash was given the signed Pudsey.

We are also challenged some local colleges to raise funds for Children In Need.
We were planning to give the college that raised the most cash a signed Pudsey, but were so impressed by the fundraising success that we've awarded bears to THREE colleges!
The colleges that have won signed Pudseys in recognition of their efforts are:
City College, North Warwickshire & Hinckley College and Warwickshire College.
ÌýWill Young CD raised £80
Coventry University raised £5,000
Warwick University student rag raised about £3,000
City College raised about £400
North Warwickshire & Hinckley College raised around £800
Warwickshire College raised about £400
This creates a grand total of £9,680
The amount of money raised through the website, universities and colleges has exceeded all our expectations.
We would like to thank everyone for their participation and generosity.
ÌýSince 1980, Children in Need has raised over £300 million for disadvantaged children living in the UK.
This year the Â鶹ԼÅÄ raised an amazing £13.5 million from the TV appeal. With our signed Pudsey toys, they might just break even more fundraising records, too!
