Week 6

Well my final week at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Coventry & Warwickshire is sadly here. I have had a fantastic time here and have learnt so much. I can’t believe how fast it’s gone, it’s been eight weeks since I went to Bristol on the training course, but it feels like only yesterday.

I had a very busy week last week visiting Scott Neely at the Coventry Crusaders Summer Basketball Camp. It was great to go along and see what was happening and it was clear that all of the 40 or so youngsters there were having a great time.

Recently I have also been in contact with Laura Hunter Thomas, from Rugby, who is a massive hopeful for the 2012 Olympics in fencing. Laura is a fantastic fencer and is currently living in Oregon in the US, working with the best women’s fencing coach, Ed Korfanty.

Laura has worked so hard to get where she is and has put in a lot of hours training, so she definitely deserves to represent Great Britain at the games. It’s been great speaking to Laura and she will soon have a feature up on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Coventry & Warwickshire website, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

As if that isn’t enough for one week, I have also paid a visit to Liberty Way, home of Nuneaton Rugby Football Club. The Nuns, as they are known, have being hosting a rugby summer camp, which looked like great fun!

Coach Huw Thomas has been teaching the youngsters all aspects of the game from passing to tackling. It was great to meet Huw and have chat to him about the camp.

All that is left is for Sarah and myself to head south to Television Centre for the Blast Reporters Showcase. I’m really excited about the event and catching up with all the other Blast reporters.

I have had so much fun talking to and interviewing fantastic sports people from all over Coventry and Warwickshire. I hope you have all enjoyed reading my work and following my diary. Although this is my last diary update as a Blast reporter, with a bit of luck this won’t be the last time you hear from me!

Before I go I would like to take this chance to say a BIG thank you to everyone at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Coventry & Warwickshire, especially Martin and Hannah for all their time and help!
