Cornwall's Tassy Swallow

Partying in Hawaii

Spending some time away from the intensive training, our young surf blogger Tassy Swallow celebrated Halloween in Hawaii with some fun costumes. And she picked up potentially the most wanted Christmas gift of 2008...

Saturday 1 November 2008

Joel and Martin were persuaded into gettingΜύfancy dress in the end as we told them they were letting the team down...so they had to go big didn't they. People loved them! They dressed as if they had just got out of the shower. You know- towel round the waist, Shower cap on head, a back scrubber in hand....simple but so so effective.

As soon as Beth, Josh, Arron, George and I walked into the mall food market (we went into Waikiki early so we could go to the Ala Moana mall- amazing) we looked around to find them and there they were stood in the middle of about four people already on the cameras.

Hawaii - holiday and surfing paradise

Joel was loving it, sort of acting the whole hand motions in the photos as if he really was scrubbing his back with the loofah. For the rest of the night everywhere they went they got 'Paparazzi'd. Our costumes were good but they loved the shower outfits. Never mind. There’s always next year to go bigger.

There were some sick costumes...this one guy was dressed as facebook. There was also a massive group of bananas, a block of chocolate, a couple of full gangsters, a kid dressed as the cutest Elmo i have ever seen, Picatchu, a traffic cone, and of course a lot of other batmans/superheroes too.

I bought an Ipod touch from the mall as well. I just marched straight in and went over to the counter and asked for 'a 16 GB Ipod Touch please'. To which they looked pretty surprised and asked if I wanted to pay with a credit card or a debit card. I then just came straight out with 'Well I've got Cash'. I may as well have walked straight in with a balaclava and robbed the place with a massive gun. I would have got the same surprised look I received. Anyway really stoked with it.
