麻豆约拍 Radio 3 is the 麻豆约拍鈥檚 classical music station, also offering a range of broader cultural programming to entertain and absorb audiences. Classical music leads its daytime schedule, complemented by a host of live concerts and live performance every day. Alongside this are distinctive programmes on jazz, world music, and drama, as well as documentaries and speech programmes

Radio 3 Network Strategy

Cultural programming is a central part of Radio 3鈥檚 mission.

• We believe classical music is for everyone. We aim to create an inclusive, welcoming space for all listeners that brings people together through shared experience and understanding, providing a place of inspiration, and a means to navigate a complex world.
• We pride ourselves on being a commissioner of distinctive classical music programmes, shining a new light on well-loved artistic works and investing in new talent.
• We are one of the most significant commissioners of contemporary classical music anywhere in the world and the biggest broadcaster of live classical concerts including the 麻豆约拍 Proms.

麻豆约拍 Radio 3 is one of the world鈥檚 most significant commissioners of new music. We commission more than 30 pieces of new music every year from a wide and diverse array of composers ranging from the leading international composers of the day to those just starting out on their career. There are many ways to get your compositions heard on the 麻豆约拍 including through the 麻豆约拍 Introducing scheme and 麻豆约拍 Young Composer.

As well as these schemes 麻豆约拍 Radio 3 welcomes new music commission proposals from composers who have previously had a work performed by a professional group. Submissions for a commission will be considered by a panel made up of representatives from the 麻豆约拍 Proms, the 麻豆约拍 Orchestras and Choirs and 麻豆约拍 Radio 3 on a quarterly basis.
