Bad news poll

Michael Crick | 18:21 UK time, Wednesday, 8 September 2010

Bad news for Andy Coulson, and for Scotland Yard.

A poll by YouGov tonight shows 52% of more than 2,000 people polled think Coulson "should not keep his job" in Downing Street, compared with 24% who think he should stay.

It's even worse for the police. Some 47% of those polled think the police did not "fully investigate" the "phone tapping affair", compared with just 14% who think they did.

as Heseltine once said 'if you are still on page one after a week you are history'....sorry, Andy

Surely eveyone should wait for the result of the police investigation ? The whole affair stinks of a witch-hunt aided and abetted by Labour's willing little helpers at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

this government would love to see the demise of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, they are in bed with Murdoch and all his works, they do not produce any original programming, they are not a national institution formed in 1922, the British people love and appreciate the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and they realise that it is not all about money. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is the greatest value for money and is a world leader in journalism, programme making and makes Fox News look like Mickey Mouse so moves may be afoot to privatise another national institution like the Post Office it will meet sterner opposition if they try to water down a 'sacred' institution.....hands off!

Ah working now. Nice to see that acknowledged.

To port over the comment intended for here when I pointed out the 404 error...

I will be interested in the notion of extending everything we do in future based on decisions based on public polls.

Of course, it would only be right if this was applied equally and not just in certain areas that some reporters and editors prefer.

And using 'polls' that can be on topics already rather compromised by partisan coverage, and made to say anything one wants, when one wants, to order.

Hard to see this as 'news'.

Though Istatou's first line has been inspired by it, with some validity.

    Stevie,
If the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is so great, then people will pay , voluntarily, to watch it. But I resent having to pay the licence fee, just to own a TV, on pain of imprisonment, for a broadcaster which represents everything which I despise.

    JunkkMale,
    Cheers !
It is great that Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ websites are slightly less "moderated" than Pravda !

long live the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, a bulwark against fascism for nearly a hundred years unlike some 'News' organisations that would readily dine at their table.....
