We are very pleased to announce the re-procurement of our Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Digital Design Services roster, 3 years after the last procurement. This roster offers the opportunity for world-class user experience and design agencies of all sizes and specialisms to partner with our internal team. The new roster aims to help the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ:

  • Nurture design consistency via our Global Experience Language.
  • Increase differentiation of our key online products in competitive audience markets.
  • Develop first-class media production and enterprise tools for use by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ colleagues.
  • Provide value for money.
  • Develop the creativity and effectiveness of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ design practise.
  • Continually improve the quality of our digital products and services.

We will select between 5 and 10 agencies to join the roster which has a duration of 2 to 4 years, effective from 15th April 2017. Over that time we expect to spend between £4.5m and £12m, approximately £3m per annum. The Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is (log in required). If your agency is selected, you may be working on:

  • a variety of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s digital products, including iPlayer, Radio, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔpage, Search, News, Weather, Sport, Bitesize, CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and CBeebies.
  • a number of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s internal systems and tools.
  • a variety of digital devices, including desktop, tablet, mobile as well as connected TVs.
  • potentially helping us to explore new platforms as they come to market.
  • contributing to the evolution of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Global Experience Language (GEL).
  • developing innovative new digital formats and features.
  • contributing to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s UX&D and Service Design strategies.

We expect every agency selected for the roster to offer outstanding visual design and interaction design. We also want our selection to show a diversity of other specialist skills, such as service design, information design, design for children, prototyping, online brand development, and so on.

We have had pleasing feedback from the agencies on the current roster who’ve said that we’ve been good to work with. We want to continue to be an excellent client. We have made a number of adjustments to this procurement process to make us even easier to do business with, reflecting our learnings from the last 3 years.

Building a strong working relationship with you will be a priority for us. This gives an overview of what we’re looking for, and how the selection and tendering process will work.

Please have a read now, and if you’re up for it;

  1. register on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s e-tendering service, (login required)
  2. throw your hat in the ring for the ‘Digital Design Services PQQ’ (the deadline for this stage is 16th November 2016 at 14:00)

Please also note that while we expect the majority of our UX&D work to be offered to the agencies on this new roster, there may be other (but fewer) opportunities e.g. design and build projects for those agencies on our Digital Services III Framework.

Any questions about the new Digital Design Roster should be sent to us via (login required) by 2nd November 2016 at 14:00.

We look forward to hearing from you..!
