you had no right to ban her from the show, it just goes to show you have know heart. you are probably aware of what she has been through this year, but not being on your show wont stop her from being the incredible woman that she is!!!!

Dear Dom, been listening to the show for years, love the team and you all put a smile on my face no matter what is going on in my hectic life.

This morning my daughter who has practically grown up listening said, "mummy is there more bad things in the world than good" all
dominc seems to tell us are bad things that are happening. Its such a happy show and they are always such fun why cant they give us happy news , why do people want to hear all the bad things going on in the world.""

Well, Dom, and Team what do you think, could we have a week of great , happy news or even one day a week , ?

Bring on the daily hay fever news..as a hay fever sufferer myself the info was invaluable..

also i found the sneeze per hour count to be a much more useful and valid method of measuring the amount we (the sufferers) suffer during the hay fever season..

i dont care how much pollen is in the air..i want to know the SPH count...!!!!!!!!!

and, just an observation...carrie and clare balding would make a great posh gay couple...

i totally agree with everyone else about the Katie Price thing.
If it was her radio show she'd probably do the exact same!
And i don't think it's fair that loads of people are giving Chris stick because he was standing up for himself.

Loving the hayfever news! I found it incredibly useful (more so than even one road travel and your weather news Dom) just knowing what kind of pollen is about really helped me today. Grass and trees are evil! hehe

Hayfever, I think the item is great, please keep this up. Could you mention all the children suffering with hayfever who are sitting their GCSE.

The hayfever forecast would be excellent if it became a regular feature. I think it deserves its own proper jingle and not just the "hay" from a song a Chris saying "fever news". Blow the budget on it!

re Katie P - I am eight months pregnant and managed to get myself to work on a crushed tube yesterday, standing all the way. Today I drove to a client site 250 miles there and back.

Loads of people manage to hold down jobs whilst being heavily pregnant and aren't late for appointments, so there is no excuse. One of my friends is similarly heavily pregnant and she's a nurse and has to stand up all day, with no special treatment at all.

Quite right for banning Katie Price from coming on the show this morning. These "celebs" really irritate me. They can't be bothered to ensure they're on time for an interview which is purely to plug themselves. They don't seem to carry mobile phones in order to contact the interviewer and let them know they've been held up. I assume that radio shows are loosely planned in advance, and Katie's late arrival threw the whole program into disarray, leaving a big gap in the show. If she'd already been warned about being late, then she had no excuse. Lots of us have children, husbands and household duties. We still get to work on time. Well done Chris and the team. Stick to your guns with all these so called celebrities. If they can't make the effort for their fans, why should the fans bother with them.

P.S Just finished reading your book. Enjoyed it, but next time why not include some of the stuff that goes on when you are on the road with the team.

oh dear im so sorry that the only mother in the world katie price was late. I don't no how the rest of the world would cope if they had children and causing everyone to be late,They ought to create a new type of job and call it a nanny or chid minder its just a idea.

And i agree with chris and dave ban them if they are late cause thems the rules.

I have a (potential) way around this banning rule for guests you actually want to talk to but don't have the decency to turn up on time.

I assume that, given they have a call time, that they are given a set slot in the show, and that normally these have a loosely defined end time. When they are late still let them on the show, but still kick them out at their pre-defined end-time (stops you running late for your next guest).

If you'd done this, and say Katie was only due to be on until 8:30, she'd still get on the show and you could talk to her, but rather than her usual 30 minute plugathon she'd only have had 10 minutes or so.

If you really wanted to be cruel you could first make them sit through the 15 minute pre-interview prep, or bring them in and either ignore them, or everytime they mentioned what they were promoting you said "Hang on time for a record" so they never actually got to promote their stuff.

Just a thought....

I agree that it was right to ban Katie from the show. This is her job, and if she is late for that, then you have to suffer the consequences of your actions. Its lack of professionalism!

Also, I don't think Chris was right to ban Katie Price, although I can see why he felt he needed to. The poor girl has had enough to deal with over the last few weeks, Peter's illness, Harvey's illness etc. plus being ready to have the new baby any day. She was only 20 minutes late and Chris, if you're reading this, I think you have been a bit nasty.

Very useful information Dom, many thanks. By the way, you, Chris and Dave were right to say Jordan shouldn't come onto the show today. Rules are there for a reason and she has to face the consequence of being late. I'm not suprised the two girls (Carrie and Aled) thought she should be allowed on. At the end of the day, neither of them have the balls to say no!
