Brits Tonight.

Chris Evans | 17:06 UK time, Tuesday, 21 February 2012

You going?

No, me neither.

But we are definitely partying at home. Pancakes, pasta, choccie and red wine. Sounds good doesn't it? I'm almost getting excited.

Adele - 6 Grammys but only nominated for 3 Brits. Oops.

Come on James Corden. Rock our world. Sorry Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 1 and 2, I feel dirty, but it's The Brits and I need to watch them (and listen to Jo Whiley Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 from 8pm) as valuable research for the Breakfast Show tomorrow.

Treason? Not guilty. (Hangs head in shame)

Peace and Love

I saw 'Where's Fred' and yes it was your village wasn't it, I got it from the clues.

Get ready for the invasion of the sightseers tomorrow. Your quiet sleepy little village will be busy LOL.

What a beautiful village it is!

    Evening each

I'll be watching too Chris, might even get my pjs on and get comfortable. No pancakes for me but I've got the choccie and the red wine and just had the pasta.

A late post from you today - off to see what's been happening on 'previous'

Caught up and, as usual, have forgotten who said what - stupid woman.

I saw Queen in their early days in Edinburgh - Flash almost made me lose my hearing!! But it was fab.

And I agree with whoever said they'd still like to see the Rolling Stones. Yes, they look a bit crusty but they remind me of my youth. Saw them in St. James Park in Newcastle in the eighties - friend snuck out of work to sit in a queue for hours for tickets and nobody missed her.

    Hi everyone:

Good grief, completely forgot all about The Brits last night! MrS and I did some catching up and watched Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔland which started on Sunday night on Channel 4. Really enjoyed it (apart from the inevitable violence, which I don't like), and I think it will really take off in the next week or two.

Maddy: yes, I think all of us are doing a great job of keeping the blog going - I don't know where I would be without it!

Deebee: Chris is such a sweetheart, and he writes a blog almost every day. When a new one doesn't show up, we just keep chatting!

Billie: good job cleaning up the teenager's room - it's the one thing I don't miss about MsS!

Annie: hope you enjoyed your choccie and wine - bliss!

Bids: hiya, always lovely to see your morning posts.

I loved what Chris had to say this morning re: The Brits and how they cut Adele's speech - and the 8am cut to the news was pretty slick!

Have a good day everyone - Wednesday already, this week is vanishing!

I cleaned the whole kitchen following the pancake fest in our house. Me and Our Sidekick watched The Brits while I tweeted my way through it lol.

Me and my friend were debating whether I counted as a Radio 2 listener (given that Radio 1 plays in our office all day) and which of us lot voted for Cldply!

    Morning All,

A bit grey and dull here in North Kent, that's the weather not my hair - which is brown and shiny :)

But because I spent so long at the hairdressers yesterday and didn't get home till late, I didn't have pancakes :( So I will have them tonight, when I have a bit more time to cook them.

Chrissie, SNAP! I was watching Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔland too rather than the Brits, although I did catch the end of it, to see them cutting off Adele mid speech. I thought Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔland was great and certainly has potential to grow and already I'm wondering if he is a goodie or a baddie. xx I must say those Americans certainly know how to produce a good drama.

Bids, Don't work too hard ;) xx

Debs, How are you feeling chuck.....you too csn? xx

Happy Hump Day one and all xx

    Good morning blogettes

MM: Confession time - it was a different village. He must film several in advance. It was a lovely village though wasn't it? Mines lovely too - just a different one !

Enjoying the debate about old rockers - saw Status Quo a few years ago at one of the concerts in the forest. Great fun and don't take themselves too seriously at all. Really good night.

Also saw Madness at the same forest. They were very late appearing - they got lost in the Cheshire country lanes. Take the boy out of the city can't take the city ................... They were very apologetic. Another great night once they got going.

Weather very windy, grey and mild here on the borders. Hope all are OK.

    Regards PJ

    Morning all

Now, Christoff Lambie Pie - this whole "let's Start Lent On Monday" thing is really a bit of a cop out isn't!! A true case of wanting to have your cake and eat it!!!

It's a bit like one of those formula one chappies saying I'll just not count this first set of tyres that I use as I really like them!!

If you're going to do this, then man up and do it properly! What's the point of giving up something you enjoy, presumably to test your will power, if you cheat the system so you can have it when you want it!!

    Grumpy rant to be continued!!

  • Comment number 14.

Old rockers - seems a shame that the remaining members of Queen get stick for going on doing what they do ( and obviously love doing) because one of their number is no longer with us when other groups of the same status who are lucky enough not to have lost anyone get to keep rocking all over the world, however decrepid they may be. The members of Queen all contributed to the writing and creation of the group. Freddie Mercury was always insistant that it was not "Freddie Mercury AND Queen", that he was a part of the group like everyone else and I think he'd just be pleased to know that his party is going on whoever is dishing out the drinks!

Ha! You think I'm finished moaning?!!

  • Comment number 15.

And while I've got the ranty pants on (and no, I'm not sharing today) when I am in charge, everyone is going to have to have the number of their house clearly displayed with a light shining on it so when you go to pick someone up for the first time, you don't have to creep along a busy road at snail's pace trying to squint at the titchy tiny little dark numbers in the dark!!!

Right, I'll leave you in peace - for a while!!

    Grumpy Sezza xxxx

ps I didn't watch the Brits - I was at a WI committe meeting! Rock n Roll!!

  • Comment number 16.

GH: isn't it great when the kitchen is all clean?!

AliB: amazing you were watching Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔland too! We are birds of a feather! xx Yes, I agree, the Americans are brilliant at this stuff - I think it's going be fairly nail-biting!

PJ: my sister and I had tickets for "The Quo" a few years ago, and then we got the opportunity to go on a wee holiday and gave our tickets to friends. The holiday was great, but we were gutted to miss The Quo!

Sezza: oooh, I must have missed this, this morning. Not even the mighty Chris Evans can mess around with the start of Lent!

I quite agree about Chris starting Lent on Monday. Didn't he publicly declare some while back that he was giving up drink......yeah right! He then back tracked on that, now he wants to start Lent later so he can have a good time on Saturday. Doesn't work my friend, doesn't work!

Susan, Please give Baby Pip a gentle squeeze from me and give Pip a bigger one xx

    Morning

Grinning like a cheshire cat on the way home last night got a mensh from Mr Mayo on 3 word Tuesday "Surrounded by Muppets" then he mentioned that I send that one in regularly. Obviously this was an observation of the muppets I work with. Any resemblance to real muppets, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

This may make me unpopular but CLP did mention this morning if Blur (Damon) hadnt been so self indulgent then Adele could have said her thanks and if they can run over for the footie they could run over for Adele. Although me and the boy rocked out to Parklife a family favourite I am afraid. Loved what he did at the 8 o'clock news did make me giggle.

Had loads of pancakes last night the boy would eat them all day every day if he thought he could get away with it.

Saw the Eagles several times (Mr CB's favorite band of all time) time before last we got front row seats and whilst they dont cavort around the stage trying to dance wildly we did get the chance to see Joe Walsh look down at his guitar and his teeth drop out which he caught and shoved back in. You dont get that with a young band do you?

Good luck with everyone who is giving up something for lent. I gave up crisps once for the whole month and it was torture.

Welsh Bird it is amazing how a good clean and move about can be so theraputic.

Shall stop by later as it is last day of cake fest today so off to route out a low calorie cake which I shall break in half so the calories fall out.

    CB xx

    Hello again:

Sezza: I do agree with you that it's a shame on the other memebers of Queen. Imagine how we'd all feel if a colleague (heaven forbid) died and we were all thrown out of our jobs because a member of our department/team was no longer around. Doesn't seem fair. Although I do understand how people feel about Freddie. Gosh this fence is uncomfortable on the whatsits.

W I committee meeting? Is this top trumps? I was at a Planning sub committee meeting of our local Parish Council (get me !) Luckily it started @ 7 so I managed to get back home just after the Brits started. Do feel that James Corden got a bum deal last night. At least it wasn't the night of the BRITS when Mick Fleetwood & Samanthat Fox presented. That really was an object lesson in how not to run and awards ceremony. I know most of you are far too young to remember it. Bet Mick & Sam still wake up in a cold sweat now and again.

    Regards PJ

PS Is it lunchtime yet ? - I'm starving

    And another thing!!

All books that are part of a series should have, in BIG letters , on the front cover "This book is part 5 of a series (or 7 or 2 or 2222) Do not read this until you have read all the others as nothing will make sens to you and when you do go back and read the earlier books, all suspense will be gone as you will already know what happens!! That'll save you getting them home from the library and then realising you need to read something else first!

Susan, Thanks for the hug - I am ok - just ranty!! I am however "well jell" (as us Essex girls apparently say) of your hugs with the little baby man. Give him a huge gentle hug from us and a wee little sniff of the back of his neck too!

I know I had pancakes on Sunday but my cunning move may have back-fired as all this talk about pancakes has made me want them even more so I may have to go for a 2nd flipping batch!

    Good morning all,

Susan - how lovely to be seeing Pip and baby. He looks gawjus and I would love a cuddle.

Ali & Sez - I totally agree about lent - it starts on Ash Wednesday and that is that. No new lent for me!

Hello toffee billie darling and all other bloggers.

I am struggling with the first day of giving up facebook & twitter for lent. I have moved the apps on my phone so I can't see them but I am desperate to update my status or chat on twitter. However that is what lent (in my opinion) is about, some self denial. I tend to do what I want when I want (within reason) and very rarely deny myself anything. It is going to do me good to exercise some strength of mind and fill my time with other things. The kids are really pleased as they consider themselves twitter widows!! I am planning to have quality time with them, read more and I have also found a Zumba class on a Tuesday evening. It will be interesting to see how I feel about fb & twitter come Easter!

I thought the Brits were great but wished Jessie J or Emilie Sandhi had won something. JC played it quite safe and really should not have been told to cut Adele short. Also there were too many ad breaks and really should be back on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

    Have a great day y'all

    Love C xx

Sezza: Thanks for your admittance of gracious defeat.

Now why can't I win that easily on the Euro Millions ( other lotteries are available ............. and I don't win on those either !!! )

    Regards PJ

    It's still not lunchtime !!!

  • Comment number 29.

    Hello.

Very windy and some rain too here today

I enjoyed the Brits last but agree it was wrong the way Adele was cut off. Loved Blur with Phil Daniels (and Alan Carr appeared to be enjoying himself LOL!).

PJ-I know from past experience that the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ do hours of filming for a short clip. They must have done more than one village in the same area but if your village is as lovely as Shotwick (I can say it now) you are very lucky.

I gave up doing the lottery after not winning doing the same six numbers for a couple of years. I came close though. I got four, my birthday and house number I was born and grew up in. The other were good ages in my life. I had 29 & 31. The two winning ones were 30 & 32. If the good things had been delayed for a year today I would be a millionaire.
