Thursdays say goodbye to Jan 2012 today...

Chris Evans | 10:07 UK time, Thursday, 26 January 2012

..So long my friends, you've served us well. We'll see you again in eleven and a bit months' time with tales of The Olympics, The Diamond Jubilee and who knows what else ?

It's almost the end of Andy's first week as main producer of The Breakfast Show and I have to say he's the man. Excellent work old bean, especially the digging up of a rival pizza lyric to Jessie J's 'Domino', in the form of Talking Heads' Pizza Hut reference from their track Nothing But Flowers. Now that's good knowledge. Hopefully he'll be here for a while with more !

Kirsty Young for brekkie tomorrow. It's a tough job but . . . Well you know.

Peace And Love

    Hello CE & Everyone.

January! What is supposed to be the most depressing month of the year is almost over and spring is on it's way before we know it.

Good work Andy. Talking of pizzas I haven't had one for a long while and I think it's time for one soon. Strange how we go through stages in our eating habits.

Hi Chris: hard to believe January is almost over, and what a difference from January 2011 when almost all of us were snowed in and freezing! Good to hear this morning that you had a great day/early evening yesterday. xx

eb: very glad to hear that Mr.eb is alright. He must have had a terrible shock, so I hope he is ok.

Annie: sorry you had such an early start this morning. I wasn't sure whether you would see my post to you, so I took the precaution of having a merlot for you, last night!

AliB: oh yes, MsS loves Percy Pigs too! Re: CSN - bless her, she is still struggling with the virus. I will let her know you were asking for her.

Sezza: ooooh, Boy 1 is going to be on the ceiling with excitement when he gets back from London! I am so envious of his trip!

Hope everyone is ok this Hump Day.

Ello CLP Ma Main Man & ALL Bloggies...

    Bingo Star 'ere...

Soz ave not been able ter blog for a while.... Been driving trucks and completely demolshing me kitchen ceiling and knockin' me wall through!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CLP Man - 'ope yer 'ead is ok after yer pal#s 50th gig yesterdee.... No serious 'angovers terdee!!!!!! ;-)))

January Thrusdees..... A for one 'ope it's not gonna be the end of the world at the end of the year or it could be the last Thrusdee am ever gonna see in a January.... Notta good thought when am about ter bang me boiler inter me kitchen!!!!!!!!
Well when a say 'am'.... Actually ave found a VERY nice gasman/ plumber who 'as done abitta work for me in the past!!!!!!
'e's agreed ter come ter me 'ouse next Thrusdee (whatta coincidence... But noot one in The January)... And for only 200 quid day rate 'e will work at me 'ouse for a whole dee.... Doing as much as 'e can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So basically first job is ter cap off me old lead water supply pipe before too much exposure ter lead makes me mad!!!!!! (They say lead poisoning does that ter people!!!!!)
Then second job is ter connect at me 'ouse end me new water pipe that a banged in from the street ter me kitchen. Ave got it on good authority that me local water authority 'ave connected the other end ter the street service main!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second job is move the boiler that's in me small bedroom (No. 3).... Down directly below ter the kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The previous owners 'ad the boiler put in the small bedroom which is madness... Making the room smaller.... And the bedroom unusable ter a degree!!!!!!
So a will get the gas dude ter move it, was gonna do it mesen except for the gaspipes bit.... But since ave got 'im for a whole dee 'e will be faster than me and do the lot!!!!!!!!
Then an extra job of connecting me radiators in me living room and dining room ter the central 'eating system in order ter getta atlast some 'eat and 'ot water in me 'ouse.... Of which ave been without throughout the winter!!!!!! (not that am after sympathy.... Am a man of steel when it come ster washing me 'air in freezing water!!!!!! Releases the energy of The Mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Then with some 'eat in the 'ouse for the first time in years me damp walls that a last week damp proofed will start ter become... errrr... noot damp!!!!!!!!!!!

Talkin' of which.... gotta get back ter using this Thursdee getting it ready for next Thrursdee's BIG dee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Niceness ter each ;-)))))

    Afternoon Each,

The sun has come out here after it poured with rain, which produced a double rainbow, very pretty.

I can't believe it's February next week and it's only a short month so will soon be March. Although I am not sure I will last the year if the pace of the first four weeks are anything to go by! I'm worn out already!!

Eb, Meant to say sorry to hear about 'tuther half, glad he is OK though xx

Chrissie, Thanks for the update on csn. I did message her on FB and was a bit worried when she didn't reply. Give her my love xx

Bingo, Good to read you, glad things are going well with the house even if it does sound as though you are living on a building site!

    Later
    AliB

    Afternoon

Been struggling since last Thursday with hacking cough and you don't want/need to know the rest!!
Well 1st February will bring GD wedding so yes January is hurtling past a bit too quickly and I really need to shake this off - plus we might be moving in the first full week of Feb. Don't do things by half eh??

Right been out shopping with me mam for a couple of Β£10 meals so am now absolutely shattered. Back to resting and lurking.

Hugs (but not germy ones) to all

    Love

    Susan xx

    Evening

Thanks for the congratulations, unfortunately no car though Deevs, or payrise for that matter!

It's more for convenience with our Regulator as I'm the only fully qualified employee in the company, so all the responsibility is on me, but none of the real decision making...a little scary!

Ebs, meant to say, glad Mr Ebs is ok...

Ali, I had a similar experience with a hairdryer once, very scary indeed!

Deevs, I had a Tiny Tears called Tina too... didn't dye her hair though...lol

Right, need to ring my Mum and see how my niece is doing, as of Tuesday, she still wasn't back at school...

Deevs, what's in a vegetarian haggis you say? Well i didnt know until i looked and its Oatmeal, water, vegetable margarine, kidney beans, lentils, nuts (peanuts, almonds, walnuts), carrots, turnip, onions and mushrooms.... much better than knowing whats in the real thing!

    Evening each

Heard the pizza hut song this morning, but have only now got the link to Domino - doh, stupid woman. And nice to hear Bob Dylan too - Chris, how about 'God on their side' for tomorrow? Quite apt for Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Lots of unpaid hours worked today but I did get a new laptop and a mobile wifi - now just need to work out how to use them.

Good luck with the new tech Annie. Will the young boys be round to show you how it works? That's what I usually have to rely on!

JG, I've even got my next appointment booked - how organised am I!! Might freak the hairdresser out though as I'm thinking chop it all off!

Boy1 had a fab day in London and even got some notes written on the coach home!!

Still think I should have gone to look after him though!

Oh, and by the way - Rothiemurchus is on The One Show tomorrow, with Alph, one of their Rangers, who told me about 3 years ago he was retiring - obviously he changed his mind. Hopefully you'll see my beloved Loch an Eilian.

  • Comment number 17.

Sezza, I'm relying on the 12yr old and 9yr old to show me how it all works.

    Good morning all,

A crisp sunny day down here on the south coast, with a light frost earlier ,but nearly all gone now.

Annie,Sez ,so I'm hoping That your days are getting brighter in your worlds .

Eb ,so pleased to see that OH is OK ,he must have been a bit shaken though .

I shouldn't be sitting here ,I should be writing my shopping list but just cant be bothered ,so I will probably end up sticking my head into the fridge and cupboards and shop of the cuff so to speak. Never know I might end up with something exciting eh!!

A quiet w/end here so far ,nothing planned,so here's hoping you all have a good one one in whatever you're planning or doing.

Have a good day all and take care.

    Hi everyone:

Don't you just hate it when you wake up on a Friday morning, and you think it's Saturday?! What a disappointment, I can tell you!

Well, a freezing one this morning, I was back to my baby-steps walk this morning - the ice is horrific.

Bingo: nice to see you. Bless your wee cotton socks with all the work you have to do in your house. It will all be beautiful though ... in time!

AliB: I will most certainly let CSN know.

Susan: hope you are feeling a bit better. Yes, you certainly have your hands full at the moment! Oooh, what an exciting day lies ahead next week!

JG: I forgot to congratulate you - you have some busy times ahead, eh?!

    Billie: nice to see you.

Bids: Just checked out Chris's DID. If you just g**gle the full name of the show, it will bring up the site. Go into archive, and type in Chris's name. His show was broadcast in November 2005!

    Hope everyone is ok.

    C xx
