Wow!

Chris Evans | 16:44 UK time, Tuesday, 15 November 2011

Three bids.

And here we are, almost a quarter of a million pounds later. Plus it's only Tuesday. Incredible. Bless all the bidders for the golf and cricket Children In Need auction items.

And of course tomorrow it's Magnificent 7 time again. They're fast, they're loud, they are beautiful and they're up for grabs tomorrow morning from 8 o'clock.

Can't wait.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, tune in, it's gonna be a blast mad dash until the gavel goes down.

Radio Time is The Time when it comes to Children In Need Time.

    Hi Chris

You got the Twitter link then!?!?

I say this every year, but I couldn't drive a car that was worth so much money. I just dno't trust my driving enough. If I totalled it, I'd be in debt for the rest of my days and then some.

Great stuff thus far - the auctions in the morning are fab, and yes, I shall be tuning in again tomorrow to hear the Magnificent 7 mayhem!

    See you Friday.

    .... and hi Pudsey!

    Hello CE & Everyone.

I came into a bit of extra cash today but, unfortunately, not nearly enough to put in my bid. I'm the same as Deevs-I would be worried to drive such an expensive car. I have been a passenger in both a Lotus and a Jaguar and the whole time I was leaning back in my seat with my right foot pressed firmly to the floor. On the other hand maybe I'd be more relaxed if I was in control of the car. Sadly I'll never find out.

I will be phoning in on Friday and wondering which lovely blogger will answer. Trying to decide which of my favourite songs to ask for.

Best wishes to those taking part, you must be getting so excited now.

I'm so pleased to hear that your little granddaughter is so much better, I've been thinking about you.

Hang on in there re the workmen, their behaviour can be incredible the way they mess people around. It's all finished here and the scaffolding came down today. But now there's more to come. When they were clearing out the rubble from the blocked drain which was flooding the garden they discovered the pipe was cracked. It looks like there's more to come with the path and garden being dug up. I'm past caring really LOL.

Marjie, I know how you feel. It all becomes a bit of a nightmare, seems to be one thing after another but I am sure we will both see an end to it all hopefully before Christmas this year. LOL!

Jillygoat, have a great time. I will be thinking of you all.

Annie, where are you my dear. xx

    Evening all

Not been around much as very busy with work stuff, especially as I'm not in for two days this week. Feeling quite nervous about Friday, sure it'll be fine though!

It is amazing how much money comes in through the auctions, and the packages seem to get better and better each year. Long may it continue.

CSN - glad the granddaughter is on the mend, no fun at all with little ones in hospital.

    cheers

    Evening all,

Chris enjoyed this morning auction and most def looking forward to tomorrows session , it should prove to be a good one eh!!! .and these here lovely people are going to make you a mint on Friday for your CIN. and I believe that there will be cake .

Well ,tonight I have started the card writing ,written about sixty so far ,more tomorrow and hope that by the end of the week that they will be done .why you ask so early ,well I have so many to write and some have letters in them so I like that to be my first job of the festive season.

And I have a nice bean casserole on the simmer ,hair cut tomorrow night and my friend normally eats with us and is a veggie hence the beans.

Work has taken on a new twist today ,my bosses who for months now have been in talks with their architect and builders and have finally started on their extension ,i wont tell you how much it's costing ,but I could go and buy a nice house for what it's going to cost.so I have now got the pleasure of builders for about the next five or six months. i just hope that I can take the sight of all those bottoms .Oh well !!! I suppose I can just about bare it ,perks of the job you know.

Gail ,I read your Poem ,very moving ,and thank you for sharing. I'm a blood donor ,have been for years ,wanted to be a bone marrow donor but my age was against me ,but both daughters are blood donors.
but I must admit to not being an organ donor ,no reason ,but I'm also not saying that I wouldn't be .I take my hat off to all that are ,as they are very committed .

Better go and stir them there beans.

Take care all and steady as you go .

    Hiya Pudsey xx

    Hi Chris,

I would love to drive on of those cars Chris but sadly my lottery numbers haven't come up so I will have to pass for another year - maybe one day!

Keith - I'm intrigued! Can I have your direct number for CiN so I can at least get to speak to you as I won't be there for my hug ;o) xx

CsN - really pleased to hear your grand daughter is on the mend xx

I had a day off today for the plumber who was booked to come between 8am and 1pm. He arrived at 8.30 left at 10am and did a fantastic job! So refreshing to have someone who knew what they were doing and took pride in the job they did. Bit of a result as I had the rest of the day to do as I pleased. Did a bit of shopping, met a friend for dinner and had a lovely catch up with another friend.

Getting excited for all those going to CiN.

    Hope everyone is well.

    Take care folks!
    Mary xx

    Hiya Bids xx

Gail - I forgot to say thank you for sharing the poem. I too was a blood donor but due to a health condition had to stop. Every year we have the mobile unit come to work and I encourage and arrange appointments for employees to do their bit. I've been meaning to renew my donor card I've misplaced the one I had - thank you for prompting me to get it done xx

    Happy Birthday K&Ks.

    Morning Cath et al.

I could've slept for England this morning - the alarm proper made me jump when it went off just before 6.30.

csn - good news about your little one, it must have been a very worrying time for all of you.

Bids - good luck with the builder mayhem - best you get some of "that" diet soft beveridge in for the obligatory 11.30 break!!

Andy - I'm sure you'll be fine on Friday. The key thing is to keep calm .....!

I have to admit that I'm not excited at all. Yes, I'm looking forward to it, of course I am, but I'm just concerned that we all do a good job and not burn out with hyper-excitement before we all get there!

Sorry to be a grouch, but that's how I feel ....

.... but yes, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again, and the dinner afterwards should be a blast!

I'm off to a networking event/business show dooodah today - I'm kinda liking not having to go to work. All I need to do now is make some money!

Right, time for the Mag7 Auction ..... go go go!!!!!

    Good morning all,

Morning Chris ,just caught you chatting to Matt ,and really feeling for him at the mo as that rickshaw looks hard going all that constant pedaling .Would just like to say good luck Matt.

Lisa, Happy birthday to you today ,hope that you have a good one.

Mary , sorry just missed you last night ,Nice when you have a day like that isn't it ,and as far as that plumber of yours is concerned you need to keep hold of him ,and do you know how far he's prepared to travel??,good plumbers like that are like gold dust.

It sounds like the car auction is going well ,And the people that give that much money to the CIN charity must be some super beings..That reminds me that on the way home from work last night I saw some kiddies in their drive way with their CIN stall set out ,I felt quite emotional ,but couldn't stop as it was near a set of lights and I was going wrong way.

Take care all , have a good day and stay safe.

    Morning all

Why am I so excited and interested in the bidding for the Drive and Dine when there's no chance of me ever being involved!!

MAybe it's because the joy of everyone involved shines through and also the knowledge that people are prepared to put their hand's in their pockets and donate so much money to such a good cause!

Deevs, know what you mean about Friday but trust us - we'll do you proud!!

I have a very special guest to bring on Friday - Pudsey's girlfriend Blush! She's on a bit of a challenge, a race with Pudsey and she wants to see what's going on at Radio 2!

I can't promise she won't be bothering the celebs for pictures though - she's a bit like that!!

This mornings' show was so exciting, only wish I had won the lottery last week, I would certainly have made a bid, it was so infectious. I had to listen via my computer once I got to work, played the speaker really low. . . the things you do when the boss is not there.

Chris you did fabulous job and the winning bidders must be over the moon. Well done to all concerned you lucky people.

    Back again!

Just remembered to say Happy Birthday KKS!! Hope you're not spending the whole day ironing!

Hi Sharon! You and me both for the lottery then!

Christoff, Noah's Monster Voice is bringing out a lot of smiles round our breakfast table! It's the "I'm not really a monster" bit that does it! I wonder if his Mummy always agrees!! (Having 2 boys myself and remembering what they were like!)

Unbelievable stuff Chris - been listening to the show all week now and can't believe the lengths people are going to donate as much as they can in these tough economic times.

You're doing a great job in revving everybody up too! I'd need to re my house if i wanted to win some of the comps you've got up for grabs but they are truly once in a life time opportunities and if i had the money i'd be there in a flash!
