It's A Double Breakfast Dilemma

Chris Evans | 10:32 UK time, Friday, 21 January 2011

Nipped round the corner from the studio for a Friday Fry Up. Why the heck not?

Well actually, here's why not. My wife, who's off to see the baby wizard called to say she was in the area, and why don't I join her and Noah for brekkie. Of course I would love to, and I will, but she's already ordered me ANOTHER fry up - as a special treat.

Wide screen required for viewing tonight's One Show methinks.

In other news - our big Breakfast Show plan for 2011, will begin to be revealed next week.

Stay well and have a fab w/e y'all!

Yeehaa!

    Morning Chris

A double bubble fry-up eh!?!? I'd give my right arm just for a bacon sarnie now. Trying to get my head around calorie counting but struggling tbh as I've always been a WW "points" kinda gal!

Baggy - from prev blog. At the mo I can't promise anything to anyone other than to be strong and supportive to my friends when they need me, as they are to me when I need them.

Ali - glad you liked the blog. Wish I could say the same about my other readers ..... x x x

    Morning Chris.

Good luck with Kevin McCloud (I hope that reference isn't too obscure) - must be a frustrating time....in some ways!
What a catch you turned out to be, honestly, eating two fried breakfasts to keep Tash happy - the things you'll do for love eh? Whaddaguy....;0)

Looking forward to the One Show tonight - you can accompany the Current Mrs. Milham and I while we're getting all black tied up for Burn's night at the rugby club do.

Magic music on the show this morning with one exception - that new country(ish) song that sounds like the backing track is a coffee percolator and somebody eating with their mouth open....can't stand it!

Morning to everyone else - hope you all have fun, fulfilling weekends ahead of you, make the most of it, it'll be Monday before we know it....

    Baggy, from previous blog...

Not too sure which route to recommend, the roads have been extremely icy the last couple of nights, so the M5 might be better 'treated'

Hope it stays as nice as it has been for you.

Dig out a nice thick wooly pully and have a great weekend.

Oh and look out for the moon, its very impressive atm.

Good luck with the baby wizard xx and have a fab weekend yourself.

Hannah, hope you have a good time, me and mr bp went years ago and found the plot week but the songs great! We're off to see chess soon - has anyone seen it and is it any good?

    Enjoy.

  • Comment number 31.

Hannah - saw WWRY years ago and it's fantastic. And VERY LOUD!!!!!

Baggy - my cousin was in a local production of Chess a couple of years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although its not what I would call "typical" material for a musical.

We're off to see The Cult next week - woo hoo!!!

  • Comment number 33.

Deev - you know when you see RHPS you dress up? Well should me and mr bp dress as pawns?

  • Comment number 34.

    Baggy

In my former life, I dressed up every time I went to see the RHS. Usually as a French Maid, Magenta being my fave character.

I would not advise dressing up a pawn tho. Nor a prawn for that matter!

    RHS/ RHPS - whats a P between friends ;-)

  • Comment number 36.

Deev/Baggy, the last time we went to see the RHPS/RHS in Glasgow, we were all dressed up and there was a fire alarm, you have never seen such a weird looking bunch of people all standing on the pavement outside the King's Theatre in Glasgow on a freezing November night, anyone driving past must have wondered what the hell was going on.

    Gail.

  • Comment number 37.

LOL Gail! I can picture it now!!

Funnily enough, mid yoga sesh last night I suddenly had a thought of "what if the fire alarm goes off" as we do yoga barefoot with all shoes/warm clothes firly locked away in the changing room. Not sure I fancy standing out on a concrete pavement, barefoot, in a t-shirt in the middle of January!

  • Comment number 38.

Dozy, me and mr bp went to see RHS in Oxford, now the best way to get into the centre of Oxford is the park and ride - yes we did it in full costume, me as magenta and mr bp as riff raff (it took me a few yearas to convince him that suspenders were the way forward he has much better colouring for frank n furter!)

    Afternoon Chris et al,

Just got back from holiday where I took Chris, in the form of his book, with me! Actually it was the second autobiography which I got for Christmas, so on my way home I popped to the shop to get the first book. So I am reading about Mr Evans life the complete wrong way round!

First time I have read Chris's blog in a while, infact I was Em27 I think when I last read and I am and now em30, how time flies! Hate coming back from holiday to the real world, especially in January, roll on spring.

Chris, hope you managed to keep the fry up down!!

    Em30xx

  • Comment number 40.

Hello Em30 - nice to see you back, and yes, how time flies!

Baggy/Dozy - years ago, me and the former Mr Deevs went to see RHS in Northampton at The Derngate. We stayed in a hotel just on the outskirts of town and got a taxi to the theatre, but decided to walk back to the hotel after the show, as it was a nice warm summer's night and only about a mile and a half.

Midway back to the hotel, reet in the town centre, we decided we were hungry so went into a kebab shop for a full-on Donner.

Me dressed as Magenta, and the ex as Frank N Furter in a rather fetching red/black lacey basque/stockings/suspenders combo.

    Nice!

  • Comment number 41.

I'll chip in with a car-fuul of girls, all suitably dressed for the RHS, driving to the theatre when we reach a flood in the road.

The driver stopped the car, turned round to us and said" If we get stuck, no way am I going for help!!"

Luckily for the people of Essex, we made it safe and sound to the other side!

PS WOnder if Tash minds todays post?

....and so the day goes on and I finish my last teeth drop of the day.

    Only the 3 supermarkets tonight.

You have to shop around to get the most for your pound!

Anyway, finished up in the one with the bright orange carrier bags.

All was going well, I unloaded the contents of the trolley onto the conveyer belt and dipped my hand deep into my handbag, for my purse.

Mini panic set in, then on realising that it wasn't there, major panic alert.

I yelled at the cashier as I flew by, that I couldn't find my purse and hotfooted it across the icy car park as fast as my legs would carry me.

I got to Puffball, to see my purse sitting innocently on the front seat.

With equal speed, I legged it back to the till and got there, before they had cleared my shopping off the conveyer belt.

By now, I have turned a funny shade and palpitations are taking place.

I clung onto the bagging area as everywhere was spinning.

The words of compassion and support from the cashier are still ringing in my ears.

'Have you brought your own bags Madam!'

Honestly, you couldn't make it up and I didn't!!!

    Hello CLP & Everyone.

There's nothing wrong with having two fry ups once in a while Chris, I had only a bowl of cereal for my breakfast and then no food or drinks until 6pm. I'll explain how this came to be>>>>>>>

I've had a great day at the Liverpool Empire watching Britain's Got Talent, the judges were David Hasselhoff, Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre. Also Ant and Dec but only for a short time as they were backstage helping the acts (like we see on the telly. Also Stephen Mulhearn who hosts Britain's Got More Talent on ITV2.

But I have the huff with the hoff as he said no to my favourite act, a Liverpudlian who sang Yellow Submarine (or should I say couldn't sing it). Anyway we all joined in singing and dancing and it was such good fun, there was such a great happy atmosphere. Michael McIntyre said Liverpool people will readily sing any Beatles song and we joined in with Yesterday and Hey Jude. We all booed the hoff and he did change his mind and the scouser got through.

All in all it was a wonderful day out and I have only one complaint, i.e no food or drinks. There were drinks and crisps at half time but as everyone went at the same time the queues were far too long so we didn't bother.

We thought about buying something to eat at Lime Street Station but it was too crowded and nowhere to sit so we bought fish and chips on the way home.

But not to worry as I'll be having my cholesterol lowering pill tonight. You could get some of those Chris.

  • Comment number 93.

Actually, as I am going to be around for a while, here is what I saw today.

I was heading up the long hill today, on my way up to the lab.

I spotted a bird on the ground. Getting closer, I realised it was a sparrow hawk, sitting on top of another bird, presumably a sparrow.

I just about to brake to avoid it, when all of a sudden a huge buzzard swooped down in front of Puffball.

This caused the sparrow hawk to take to the skies with its catch in tow.

One more swoop from the buzzard, made the sparrow hawk drop the 'starling' and the last sighting of all three birds, was similar to that of a Red Arrows fly past, all heading off in different directions.

I think there must be a moral in this story somewhere.

If the sparrow hawk, had just stuck with what he was designed to do?

He just got greedy and ended up hungry!

    Funny old world eh!

    Morning all

    MTF - hope all is ok in the fairy house, here is a hug for you {{{{{hug}}}}}

Part one of operation errand was accomplished yesterday - once I'd been brutal with my old work wardrobe - there was only a couple of trousers, shirts and jackets left - doh - luckily M+S have some lovely reasonable priced things at the moment - so cream, black and the odd bright colour top capsule wardrobe it is!

The good thing about new job is that I am not in the same office all week, so with a diary, some clever mixing and matching I reckon I can give the impression I have loads of clothes LOL

With all the talk of food last night, I want to share that I made a lovely cote de boeuf - first time i've done that but the lovely James Martin keeps doing it on sat kitchen and as i was passing a great butchers yesterday my tummy shouted out to me "do it" - so I did!

MM thanks for sharing about your day out - I will have a smile when that episode comes on knowing you were there.

Right time for a coffee and then day 2 of operation errand commences

    Happy Saturday everyone

Hi everyone: just having a Saturday morning catch-up - very unusual for me!

MTF: I hope all is well with you and yours. Sounds like a bit of a scare last night - I do hope everything is alright.

Maddy: what a terrific day out for you - sounds terrific. I know that Daisy recently had a great day at Britain's Got Talent - sounds like it's a lot of fun!

Debs: well done on the shopping! Many years ago, at work, we employed a new secretary. For 21, yes 21 - working days, she wore something different each day. I could not believe my eyes, and after two weeks, started counting the amount of different outfits. Dresses, suits, trousers and shirts - endless outfits. I must have only had two suits and a couple of dresses at that time! Anyway, on Day 22 she wore something I had seen before - what a relief! Took years before she told me that she had borrowed loads of stuff from her sister!

Speaking of sisters: what an experience this is proving to be with my sister being so ill. She is still very much hanging in there - has made all the arrangements for her funeral, seen loads of people and phoned loads of people, to say goodbye. The nurses in the hospice told me that they have never met anyone so positive before. Not positive that she is going to survive, just positive about the situation. Makes me really very humble as I start another day complaining about how cold it is!

Hope it is ok to post this.

    Have a great weekend, everyone.

    C xx

    Morning all

Not ventured out side yet but it's looking grey and dismal out there.

Chrissie, thinking of you and your family at this time and sending you lots of love x x x

Debs: what a mission! Good plan on the mix and match capsule wardrobe. Looking forward to your reporting back to tell us what few things you have invested in .... ahem!!!

Hmmm. A fry-up! I can only dream tho. I'm going to attempt to join Nic with the calorie counting on Monday, so making the most of this weekend, although the bacon is remaining firmly in the freezer for now - I CBA to do a baon sarnie for 1 - it's not the same!

Today I think we're taking Nics little lad swimming. Always good for a giggle! Why do children over-exaggerate with the shivering thing? Its positively tropical in the local baths!!

Well, I can hear movement coming from upstairs which means I can start making some noise downstairs!

Have a fantastic Saturday, however you may be spending it, and I'll catch up with you all laters taters.

    Muchos Amore!
